TESTIMONIALS

  From a Parent

"Ms. Tatiana is the most enthusiastic violin teacher we have ever known! With her violin talent, her excellent teaching skills, together with her high expectations and demand on students, she has truly inspired my son and helped him improve a lot."

From a Parent

"Tatiana is a dedicated teacher who focuses on technique, musicality, and teaching children how to produce a clear sound with the violin.  Tatiana's teaching has improved my son's focus, and has taught him how to work through challenges.  We are so happy to have found her."

From a Student

"Ms. Tatiana is very nice. She smiles and tries very hard to find problems you're dealing with and find a trick of some sort to fix it! She's always ready for a change and will do anything to help with my violin learning."

My ultimate goal as a teacher is to educate and inspire my students, provoke and develop their interest and love to music and the violin. As a pedagogue, I strive to create an inspiring but challenging environment for my students. While not solely using a single method or school, I use a combination of all knowledge I earned as a pedagogue on the multiple continents. My teaching curriculum combines the finest aspects of the Russian and American traditions. It is comprehensive and student oriented, with a strong emphasis on individual development.

Having had an extensive training in all aspects of the String Pedagogy, Music Psychology, History of the Performance Practice,  I guide each student into the discovery of the most natural, relaxed technique and develop a set of skills necessary to be able to understand, analyze and interpret music of various styles and genres.  It is of the utmost importance to build a solid foundation for each student by encouraging and stimulating true appreciation of all the arts.

I have a passion for teaching and while realizing that not each of my students will necessarily become a professional,  I find it very rewarding to witness how being exposed to classical music through learning enriches their life experience, helps to improve focus and teaches them to work through challenges; and reach their goals.

While pursuing an active performance career as a soloist, concertmaster and chamber musician, with engagements throughout the United States, I have also been able to maintain a long history of successfully teaching  students of various ages, abilities and goals.

STUDIO POLICY

Lesson Etiquette

Students are expected to arrive on time. Extra time will not be offered at the end of the lesson if the student arrives late. Unfortunately, early arrivals cannot be accommodated due to Tatiana’s dense teaching and performance schedule.

In case teacher is late to the lesson and student is available to stay extra time, he or she will be offered the full length lesson. Otherwise, upon mutual agreement, extra time will be added to student’s next lesson.

If student planned any activities (vacations, camps, etc) that will require a student to miss lessons, advanced notification will be required before the beginning of the month or as early as known. Similarly, teacher will notify the student as early as possible about any upcoming trips or other activities that might affect lesson schedule.

Scheduling, Cancellations, Refunds

All possible dates and times for the upcoming month will be offered to the student at the end of the current month. Once lesson dates and times are confirmed and scheduled, cancellations are not allowed except those that are due to medical or other emergencies. In this case a refund will be offered (unless both student and teacher are willing and able to schedule a make up). Rescheduling a lesson can be requested by the student for up to 48 hours and is subject to teacher’s availability. No shows are not eligible for refund or make up.  If teacher must cancel a lesson due to a medical or other emergency, a refund will be offered. Teacher may request to reschedule a lesson for up to 48 hours prior scheduled lesson time. If student is not available on different date and time, a refund will be offered.

 Payment

Once lesson dates and times are finalized and confirmed an invoice will be emailed to the student. Payment is due in full at the first lesson of each month, for the entire month, in form of cash or check.
